I just returned from the Big Sur Writing Workshop, sponsored by the Henry Miller Library and Andrea Brown Literary Agency. I went several years ago – the first children’s writing conference I’d attended, before I even knew about SCBWI, our trade organization.
This conference was well worth my time and money. Most of the time was spent in small critique groups with other writers and one of the faculty (agents from Andrea Brown, editors, and published writers). I came away energized about my writing and with new ideas for revision and where to send it when I finish.
I think conferences in general are a great way to connect with other writers, learn about the craft, and connect with agents and editors. Plus I made new writer friends 🙂
Alright – back to revising.
It sounds like a lot of fun! Louise
