On July 31st I wrote about the possibility of Vision Recycling losing the contract to recycle Santa Cruz County green waste into garden mulches. I’ve just received the following by email from Vision:
This past Friday the 13th John Preisly the head of Public Works in Santa Cruz called Tom Del Conte to re-negotiate Vision’s Contract!
After countless months of trying to break through to anyone with the County or Greenwaste Recovery, we not only got a call from John but Tom also spoke with Frank Wigel with GWR. We are hopeful that all parties can come together and create a win-win for everyone thus keeping Organics Recycling and Composting alive in our community!
After the cutbacks that have been made to the Master Composter, compost education, and bin distribution programs in the county, this is potentially good news.
