Library Readings

My reading at the Capitola library was a success. I recommend the venue to writers in general. It probably varies in different library systems, but here in the Santa Cruz area, anyone with a library card can reserve a room to hold a reading at no charge. Once I was approved to sell my books at the event, a volunteer from the Friends of the Libraries was assigned to manage sales for me, leaving me free to sign books. The library takes 15% of sales and the Friends of the Libraries handles the whole thing for the author. The reading appeared in the library events calendar, but otherwise, I handled publicity.

Sales were good and the librarian asked me to do another reading in January around the time of Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27). A great way to introduce your books to your readers!
